Wilsons Promontory

We are now at the southern most point of the Australian mainland, Wilsons Promontory. It has been raining and very cold for most of our stay but we still ventured out to do some fun things.

We found a Globe Fish, also known as a Porcupine Fish, on the shore line at Squeaky Beach. It’s eyes have been eaten by the birds.

This unusual rock formation has been caused by erosion. The waves have worn it away slowly over the years, which has become the sand on the beach.

Here I am with Jacob and Dad standing in front of one of the large boulders on the beach.

The beach consists of white sand from quartz. When you walk the sand makes a squeaky sound, quite loud too. This is a close up of the large boulders along the beach. You can see the quartz in them.
