Norseman

The Nullabor ends at Norseman. Here we went fossicking for agates at the gem fields. We received a certificate saying we crossed the Australian continent on the Eyre Highway following the footsteps of Edward John Eyre. We did it in four days and he took over a year.

Me digging for semi precious gemstones at the agate gem fields. We didn’t need a permit to fossick here.

Jacobs turn with the digging. Lots of agate has been turned over, so most pieces are sitting on top of the ground. We found a few nice pieces.

The water in this lake looks red because of the colour of the soil.

This is a dried up salt lake we passed on the way to the gem fields.

Another two salt lakes on the way. Someone mentioned you can find Gypsum crystal formations in here.
