Margaret River and Surrounds

We did a cave tour at Margaret River and had a lovely forest walk. Our camp ground was in the Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park and was one of my favourite stops.

The Mammoth Cave tour was self guided using MP3 players.

Dad, Jacob and I about to enter the cave. Jacob had a player to listen to the information too.

This cave was very different and not as wet as other caves. A lot of the roof had fallen in. It is known for it’s Megafauna fossils, with over 10,000 found in the cave.

It didn’t sparkle as much as the other caves I’ve seen. This was the only flow stone I noticed with the crystals.

The forest walk around the cave had massive tall trees. Jacob really liked this one and asked to have his photo taken with it.

This is our campground within the National Park. This is the view from my bed.

Our spot was nestled in and around the trees so it was very private. There were lots of tree forts for Jacob and I to play in.

We had our own fire place, so we made twisty sticks that night.
