Albany Whale Centre

Albany had a wonderful whale centre called Albany Whale World with the original whaling boat to board.

The wheel at the helm of the whaling ship, Cheynes IV.

Jacob and I pretending to use the radio equipment during a whale chase.

The Cheynes was operational for 36 years and had it’s last whale chase on 21 Nov 1978.

This exhibit of colossal whale skeletons is called ‘Giants of the Sea’. Here Jacob and I are standing under a whales jaw bones.

This is a Sperm Whale and is noted as one of the last whales to be captured in 1978.

This is a skeleton of a Humpback Whale found in 1999. It died of natural causes and was flensed and buried for 18 months to retain the skeleton for display.
