Perth Zoo

Off to the zoo today. We wanted to see our first Komodo Dragon.

This is a monkey skull on display outside of the monkey enclosure. I’ve never seen bones at a zoo before.

This is the Komodo Dragon, only a small one and a bit hard to see properly. They are a type of monitor lizard and are related to Australia’s largest lizard, the Perentie.

Galapagos Tortoise statue. They live for over 100 years with the oldest known being 175 when it died.

Meerkats live in a family group of up to 30 members. Only the ‘alpha’ male and female breed while other members of the group teach the young, survival skills.
