Stromatolites Shark Bay

We are now at Shark Bay which is a world heritage area. I’ve been waiting to see the stromatolites at Hamelin Pool.

Jacob, Dad and I are about to do the boardwalk around the stromatolites.

Hamelin Pool is extremely salty; almost twice as salty as the ocean.

I thought they were wonderful and the viewing platform was great. I wasn’t expecting so many stromatolites.

Thousands of species work together to form microbial mats. It’s alive and growing.
