Honey Farm at Chudleigh

Today is our last day in Tasmania before we get on the Spirit of Tasmania back to the mainland. We board tonight and have a cabin. When we wake up in the morning we will be in Melbourne. Last stop in Tassie was a honey farm.

Heaps of tastings with different flavours, some nice and some not so nice. It was fun trying them all.

As you can see from the colours they don't look like honey. I think this was strawberry flavoured honey.

A display through glass of the bees working. The larger are males and they have no stinger.

The honey comb the bees have built on the glass is called burr comb. They built it to fill the space inside the hive and for storage.

These are some interesting old style bee keeping equipment.
